About the Business

Welcome to Drysdale Restaurant, located at 59 Collins Street in Hobart, Australia. If you're a lover of great Tasmanian food, wine, and exceptional service at an affordable price, then it's time for you to make a date with one of our Drysdale restaurants.

At Drysdale, we offer a unique dining experience where our hospitality students and apprentice chefs prepare and serve a range of high-quality food and beverages. As a patron, you'll not only enjoy a delicious meal but also become an important part of the learning experience for Tasmania's future chefs and hospitality staff.

Our Drysdale Centre of Excellence restaurants, located at the Hobart, Launceston, and Devonport campuses, serve as the training ground for Tasmania's aspiring culinary professionals. Under the supervision of our professional teaching staff, our students gain hands-on training to become qualified service personnel. By dining at Drysdale, you support our up-and-coming hospitality professionals and regional producers while experiencing Tasmania's booming hospitality and tourism industries.

As a student, working at Drysdale provides invaluable experience on the floor or in a commercial kitchen. You'll have the opportunity to think on your feet, communicate with your team, and gain the hands-on skills necessary to provide a high-quality dining experience for your patrons.

For group bookings, we recommend making reservations in advance, and pre-ordering is available if you're short on time. Please note that our restaurants only accept payments by card. To make a booking, you can either call 0457 119 817 or email DrysdaleRestaurantSouth@TasTAFE.tas.edu.au.

In addition to our Hobart location, we also have a restaurant at 93 Paterson Street in Launceston. This venue is also available for private hire, making it perfect for hosting events and special occasions.

If you're in Devonport, our restaurant is located at 20 Valley Road and open to the public on select days. Due to its popularity, bookings are essential to secure your table.

Join us at Drysdale Restaurant for an unforgettable dining experience where Tasmanian cuisine, hospitality, and education come together.

"This is the training restaurant in the south and so has to be rated in context. Prices are very reasonable and the service, food and drink quality is very good, if sometimes a bit variable. Well worth supporting"

"A group of 24 ladies went to Drysdale Restaurant for lunch. Seating was well arranged, crisp white tablecloths covered the tables, no wrinkles. Small flasks contained dried Australian flora, lovely. Our drinks were served in spotless gleaming glasses. The meals were attractive, well cooked and not too large. All dietary wishes were considered, gluten free, dairy free on the menu. Student staff were delightful, unobtrusive and no mishaps. We had a wonderful time, thank you."
