The Capital Airport Motel

"My son attended a school camp in Canberra which provided accommodation at this Hotel. Their stay was for 4 nights/5 days. For the whole week the room wasn't cleaned and bedding wasn't changed. The children were given one towel each for the whole week. One floor mat to accommodate 6 children over 5 days which also wasn't changed either and weren't offered any facial towelling. During their meal time the children were served food that consisted of mold and appeared uncooked. Food that would normally come as a first choice to the children on any other given day was deemed not editable and advised by others not to consume due to what appeared as mold and/or uncooked. The children were grouped into 6 per room, without attendance of their teachers which were located in a separate room. Multiple Children reported that the Hotel staff aggressively screamed at them if any of them attempted to leave the allocated room to locate a teacher for whatever reasons/purposes and did not advise any teachers of the children requiring their teacher. Aggression towards any customer whether they be child or adult do not deserve that type of treatment, period. Staff members of whom were involved in the alleged incidents were -a red haired Man and 2 young girls with black hair. Further complaint will be directed to the hotel management."

"should i even begin to describe how bad this place was i went for 2 nights and 3 days and on the first day i went to eat dinner and i got the chicken schnitzel and chip and i went to cut open the schnitzel and the chicken inside was raw it was pink and gooey.The next day i woke up with a stomach ache and turns out i got food poisoning from the chicken.worst stay ever!"

"After over 10 educational trips to Canberra, I can honestly say that The Capital Airport Motel offers the best in school accommodation. One huge plus is this provider is a schools only accommodation. Our students, and other teachers felt safe and informed from the moment we arrived. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our student were looked after, however always ensured us as teachers were aware and comfortable with what was happening. The staff enabled us as teachers to enjoy simple things such as a meal in the morning and dinner of a night, and as I’m sure other teachers will appreciate, being able to have a few moments over a meal on a camp is amazing! Simple but honest options were offered at meal times for students (The roast night was a huge hit) With a simple menu offering more than enough variety to the teachers. Lunches on the bus with no thought needed from us. In the lead up to our trip we were somewhat apprehensive about some of our students needs as they have quite severe allergies. Again from the moment we arrived it was explained (in detail) how these would be managed, and really did but our minds at ease. The students with allergies were offered variety in food, didn’t miss out and encountered zero issue, a real credit to the people looking after catering. Would I recommend others to stay?
