At Woodchoppers, we believe that BBQ and beer are a match made in heaven. But we wanted to take it a step further by introducing our own moonshine. Our small batch spirits, made with love and care, perfectly complement our in-house woodfired BBQ and local craft beers. Our moonshine is for those who march to a different beat, challenge the status quo, and go against the grain. Handcrafted in small batches on the right side of the law, our moonshine is ready to challenge the big players from our mighty little Mudgeeraba.

Since 1995, Woodchoppers BBQ Smoke & Grill has been family owned and operated. We specialize in unique woodfired BBQ, using real wood to create a 100% pure BBQ experience. We source local ingredients whenever possible to create delicious BBQ flavors influenced by Australian cuisine and BBQ favorites from around the world.

At Against the Grain Distillery, we like to buck the trend by producing our own grain-based spirits. Our all grain vodka, gins, bourbon, and whiskey "Shines" are made using real grains, giving them their distinct flavors. We also purchase quality neutral grain spirits to complement our range of unique all grain spirits. Our handcrafted, small batch moonshine is perfect for creating cocktail magic, whether you're unwinding or getting the party started.

Woodchoppers BBQ Smoke & Grill has always been a gathering place for locals. Our restaurant and artisan distillery is the perfect location for your next social gathering, party, or get-together. We also love supporting local artists, and live music has been a part of Woodchoppers DNA for the past 27 years. On Sunday afternoons, you can enjoy jazz, R&B, and soul while relaxing and enjoying a lazy afternoon with friends.

If you're looking for the ultimate BBQ, beer, and moonshine experience, our new BBQ TAPAS menu and Distillery goodies are available. And for those who want to learn the art of moonshining, we offer a unique opportunity to join our club. During our moonshine making sessions, you'll learn everything from the theory and ingredients to making and bottling your own creation. Along the way, you'll sample some great BBQ beer and moonshine, creating a memorable experience for both first-timers and hardcore home brewers.

Our BBQ Smoke & Grill is open for lunch from Friday to Sunday, and for dinner from Wednesday to Sunday. Against the Grain Distillery's Bar and Cellar Door are open from Friday to Sunday, and the Cocktail Bar is open on Friday and Saturday nights. We also offer distillery tours by appointment.
