"Hope you're not hungry! It's 50/50 if your meal will even arrive! When it arrives, you better check it for the allergies you advised them of too! They lose your order and there's no set meal times! Absolutely shocking for a hospital! I desperately feel for the staff who have to serve the meals to us patients so late and incorrectly, it's not their fault. What on earth is happening in the kitchen!"
"I was admitted for a thyroidectomy and identified as a fall risk on admission( maybe due to drug allergies). Post procedure I was returned to my room in a bed with broken guard rails. We were asked to order my meal from the new room service menu- it took almost 3 hours to arrive and I had been fasting from 8am. It was 715pm when it turned up and it was over cooked salmon, undercooked broccoli and what tasted like packet mash. I was initially only given a pillow and after asking several times for more(to keep me elevated I was given 2 plastic pillows with disposable slips. At midnight after sweating it out in the stuffy hot room I was supplied with a fan and the door was left open. My pain management was limited to Panadol( due to allergies) and as an alternative the nurse on got a night script for neurofen. In the morning I requested more neurofen at 845am in between my dose of Panadol but was told I needed to have it with food. I mentioned the previous delay for food and asked if the nurse could order as ‘urgent’. I was told I had to order. She then offered me crackers as an alternative- not easy to swallow post op with a sore and swollen throat! When I called room service I was told it would be over an hour and a half to get some scrambled eggs. The operator suggested I ask the ward to make some toast, I replied that they only had crackers and was told there was nothing they could do as they were too busy. As a result I was unable to be given any pain relief. After asking to be discharged I was told my script could take two hours from the hospital pharmacy. I then offered to get it privately and then the nurse delivered it to me 20 minutes later. Post my discharge I was left in my room, I was in pain and left to fend for myself. I was left to dress and get myself out: My friend and i went past the desk to leave and nobody acknowledged us so we left. It was a horrible experience and one that I had paid dearly for. The quality of care post operatively can be greatly improved. Take note Ramsay Health!"
"Photo of map at main reception (bottom left) - 04AUG23 Main reception opens at 0600 they are very helpful with directions that are printed and send you on your way to respective locations. For longer stays, I would recommend a roller bag if you can because you cover some distance on the transit to wards. Staff are friendly and professional, happy to have a chat, but quick and efficient. Staff 10/10 Facilities 10/10 Parking 7/10 (only because of walking distance, if you are dropped off, it is fine)"
"Had a day procedure at the endoscopy unit. From admission to discharge my experience was very positive. Ladies at admission where very efficient and friendly. The admitting nurse was soft spoken but efficient and very helpful. After the procedure you get nice sandwiches, coffee, thee, fruit juice, cracker and cheese. As soon as your next of kin arrives one of the nurses walks you out making sure you feel okay. All in all good experience."
"Had a two night stay there after surgery. The rooms where you are put just after admission are very old and desperately need upgrading. The bathrooms are disgusting with rust stains all over the sinks etc. The private rooms after your surgery are beautiful! Total contrast to the first room. It was just like being at a hotel. The staff were lovely and so caring."
