"OK I'm glad we came here but I wouldn't say it's a must visit. I loved the decor, particularly the black and white checkerboard tiles and the outside seating area was very inviting. Husband had omelette which he said was just OK, I couldn't decide between lentil rice balls, nachos or pumpkin fritters but waitperson said they also did a vegetarian foccacia, which wasn't on menu, made to order, so I had this, which was nice, however it came out 10 mins after omelette. We also had coffees (flat white and soy lattes). Husband said his was average but my soy was really good so had another. This place is really geared for kids and has a cute little play area and lollies and probably best kids menu I've seen at any Cafe, but considering this place opposite a primary school, not surprising. But what I did notice was their lack of attention to detail, eg. Nail sticking out of wall near husband's head, QR code check-in at door, tap on basin which had been wrenched out of place, things like this demonstrate a carelessness that I don't like and it always makes me wonder, if like that front of house, what's it like out the back?"
"Great Cafe with great tasting coffee and delicious food. Loved the idea of the "social table" allows ransom people to sit together and connect instead of eating alone. The bathrooms are clean with baby changing facilities and even a step stool for toddlers to wash their own hands. Everything blends well together but the kids area looked to be an afterthought. The toys were extremely dirty and almost all the toys were broken as if they were picked up from the road side. The toy house was still in good condition but the toy chest needs a keep open latch or a hook to keep the lid open to prevent kids jamming their fingers. As a parent you notice these things but the young staff would not have taken notice of this area, I hope my comment along with other parents feedback motivates the cafe to replace these toys or clean them."
"Super sweet little Café in Brighton. Lovely staff, great coffee, delicious cakes and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The pricing is really good. I’d highly recommend going there. Also great, if you’ve got kids with you."
"Let me preface this by saying, I don't know what's wrong with Melbourne cafes, but they are almost ALL. THE. SAME. I swear, they all have the same menu, or a derivative of the same menu. There's no originality in them and so I try not to go to them anymore, but it just so happened today that the opportunity came up. With that said ... it was a beautiful day to sit outside (thankfully, because before 12pm there was not a table in sight to seat an adult at ... not due to being overly busy, but lack of indoor tables). The main guy there kindly switched on the outdoor heater and we were warm and toasty instantly. After looking at the menu for a second, I settled on the eggs and salmon. He came over and took our orders (making a mental note of our choices) and the food came out in good time. It was a squash to get everything out on the tiny table, but we somehow managed to shove everything down, and of course there's an error with my order (since it wasn't written down), but I chose not to complain because I didn't want to wait longer than the others to have it fixed. Also, because I asked for the eggs not to be on brioche, but on toast instead, I got one piece of toast for two eggs, whereas someone else at the table got two brioche for their two eggs, so they managed to mop up all their delicious yolk properly, while I just looked longingly at it and wishing I could do the same. Everyone loved their food; I enjoyed mine, but not impressed with such cramped tables, and errors (I wish waiters would write down the orders). I would come here again if I was in the area and hungry. The staff are friendly and the service was quick and there's great parking. But there's nothing that makes the cafe stand out from the thousands of others, so that for me, is my determining factor in coming back again or not."
"What a great cafe! We came here for lunch and were all very happy with the food, the kids' play area, the coffee and the service. The cafe has a nice character and the staff were attentive and friendly. Great vegan options as well, especially for breakfast. Highly recommended!"
