As a bulk billing practice, we aim to provide affordable healthcare services. Our fee schedule and billing policy can be found at our reception, and all patients are required to settle their accounts at the time of consultation. Our reception staff will assist you in claiming your Medicare Rebate on the same day of service.

For your convenience, most Medicare-related consultations and home visits are bulk billed. Additionally, most pathology or x-ray services you may require are also bulk billed. To be eligible for bulk billing, please ensure you bring a current Medicare card and pension card or concession card.

Please note that patients without a current Medicare card will be charged a $50 fee for a standard consultation, payable at the time of the consultation. Longer appointments may incur additional fees. Certain services, such as medical screenings for work or vehicle licenses, cannot be billed to Medicare and will require an additional fee.

While some services and procedures attract a fee, a comprehensive breakdown of fees can be obtained at our reception. Please be aware that there is a fee applicable for the first visit of new patients.

To streamline the booking process, we encourage patients to make appointments online. However, we will make every effort to accommodate walk-ins whenever possible. Certain services, such as pap smears, health assessments, skin checks, or consultations involving complex concerns, may require longer appointments.

Test results will only be given to the patient concerned by a doctor. However, you may be asked to schedule a follow-up appointment with your doctor to discuss the results further. Medical certificates can be provided following a consultation, but please note that they cannot be backdated. It is advisable to seek this service early in your illness.

For existing patients who have visited our practice in the past twelve months, telehealth consultations are available. These can be booked online. However, new patients must have a face-to-face consultation with one of our GPs initially.

Rest assured that your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance to us. Our practitioners adhere to the AMA code of Ethics, ensuring that your medical records and consultations are kept strictly confidential. If you require a transfer of medical records, please request a form from our reception team, which can then be provided to your previous practice or doctor.

All pathology tests require a referral from your GP. We recommend having this referral ready when visiting the pathology collection center. Some tests, such as pregnancy glucose tolerance testing, may require a booking with pathology.

Workcover patients will be treated the same as regular patients. Please inform your employer before your first consultation so they can provide you with a claim number related to your current case.

Specialists typically require a referral letter from a GP. To obtain a referral letter, please schedule an appointment with one of our GPs who can assess your needs and provide the appropriate referral. Please note that specialist referrals cannot be backdated, and any charges associated with the specialist should be discussed directly with them.

If you have had an x-ray, you can collect the films at our reception desk to keep. If you are referred to a specialist in relation to these x-rays, please remember to take the films with you to your appointment.

While we may not always contact you with test results, you are welcome to see one of our nurses or call for your results if you haven't heard from us. Please be aware that test results are confidential and will only be given directly to you, unless you provide permission for your doctor to communicate them to another person on your behalf.

At Wells Medical Clinic, we prioritize preventative care. We have a system in place to register patients for recall, providing clinically significant results and preventative advice. Additionally, we participate in national and state reminder systems. If you do not wish to participate in these programs, please inform our receptionist or indicate on your Patient Registration form.

If you are interested in receiving reminders by SMS or email, please leave your mobile number and email address with our receptionist.

Our communications policy outlines how and when we receive and return telephone calls and electronic communication. Please note that emails are for administrative purposes only. We will not disclose personal information over email or use it to book or cancel appointments.

Occasionally, we may contact you via SMS or email to provide general information about our practice or health services. Please be assured that these communications will only include a name and email, and no further information will be stored.
