During a Gastroscopy, a thin flexible tube, smaller than the thickness of a finger, is gently inserted through your mouth and into the stomach. Similarly, during a Colonoscopy, a thin flexible tube, about the thickness of a finger, is inserted and moved inside the large bowel up to the junction. This procedure enables the examination of the large bowel.

"If I could give zero stars, I would. I was asked my height and weight on arrival, and after answering was told that I couldn't have the colonoscopy and gastroscopy done there because I'm too fat. I understand that it's a safety issue, but they shouldn't accept people if they're going to turn them away on the day, after they've done the bowel prep and fasted."
