Welcome to Victoria University Swim School, located at 40 Maribyrnong Boulevard in Footscray, Australia. Our establishment is a point of interest and a school, offering Learn to Swim programs for infants, children, and adults at the Footscray Park Aquatic & Fitness Centre Swim School.

At our swim school, all classes are taught by experienced and qualified teachers. We prioritize personalized attention by keeping our classes small, ensuring the best opportunity for learning and progress. Please note that all costs listed on our website are in Australian dollars and are per class.

For your convenience, payments will be deducted on the first business day of each month from your chosen bank account. The amount debited will be the sum of the total number of lessons in the month. Once you enroll, your membership will continue until you choose to cancel it. To cancel your membership, please complete a cancellation form or email [email protected] at least 5 working days prior to the end of the month to stop the next month's direct debit. Our friendly reception staff will be happy to assist you with any queries or provide you with a cancellation form.

Please be aware that we take a break from lessons during school holidays, so there will be no classes during those periods. Additionally, it is important to note that all children under the age of 12 years must be actively supervised by a parent or guardian who is 16 years and over at all times, including before, during, and after their swimming lesson. We kindly request that the use of phones, laptops, reading materials, and other items that detract from supervision are not permitted. Furthermore, any child under the age of 5 years who is swimming before or after their lesson must have a parent or guardian in the water and within arm's reach.

Our swim school boasts a 25-meter heated swimming pool, providing a comfortable and enjoyable environment for learning. We operate according to the Victorian school term dates, with Term one for 2023 running from Monday, January 30, to Thursday, April 6. Term three runs from Monday, July 10, to Sunday, September 17, and Term four runs from Monday, October 2, to Sunday, December 22. During school holidays, current Swim School members have access to the pool.

We offer a variety of classes and programs to cater to different needs and preferences. Water familiarization classes for infants are a fantastic way to introduce your child to water through fun and games. Children's swim classes are available seven days a week, ensuring flexibility for busy schedules. Additionally, during school holidays, we offer an intensive swimming program where each child takes part in a 30-minute class daily from Monday to Friday. This continuous learning approach is highly beneficial for rapid skill development.

If you're looking for some school holiday fun, we encourage your kids to get active at our school holiday sports programs. For adults, we provide beginner, intermediate, and intensive swimming lessons. In our 45-minute swim classes at the Footscray Park Aquatic Centre, you will learn how to be confident in water, covering water safety, stroke techniques, and survival skills. These classes are designed for beginners with little or no water experience.

We are pleased to offer Victoria University students a discounted rate, funded from the Student Services & Amenities Fees (SSAF). To make a booking, you can do so online or in person at the VU Aquatic and Fitness Centre Reception, located in Building L, level 0 of the Footscray Park Campus.

As a Swim School member, you will also have free access to the pool outside of lesson times, allowing you to further enjoy your swimming experience.
