Reviews
"It’s an excellent restaurant by all in all — the ambiance, great foods, nice staffs — but the serving speed is just too slow. I saw that it wasn’t just our table but the whole dining hall so they probably have to think of a systematic way to address this."
"Food at Tayim was great! Roasted cauliflower and halloumi were delicious, nice spicy margarita, the restaurant itself is very pretty. The food comes out very quickly - which is good, but maybe a tad too quick. Booked for 8pm and was out by 9pm, we had three small plates to share, then a main and a side, a couple of drinks and we were out within one hour. The bill was brought as soon as we said we didn’t want dessert, could’ve fancied another drink to finish up but didn’t have the chance to order one. Overall it was really yumm, just felt a bit like we were pushed to leave quick, at 9pm."
"My husband and I dined at Tayim on the weekend. Food: For entrees we chose the hummus, babaganoush, and kingfish carpaccio. The hummus with msabbaha and zhoug was the perfect balance of flavours and textures - creamy hummus, soft chickpeas, and with a kick of spice from the zhoug. My husband appreciated the creative twist on the hummus! The babaganoush with tatbila was a creamy and smoky delight. The kingfish carpaccio was the highlight of the entrees. The fish was delicate, and the labneh, pistachio, and ginger complemented it brilliantly. They served warm pita bread for my husband, but they also had gluten-free bread available for me which was much appreciated. For mains we shared the chicken shawarma and lamb kofta. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the tatbila sauce was delightfully tangy and slightly spicy. The lamb kofta was equally delicious, with the smoky flavour of the mashwia, the creaminess of the tahini, and the crunchy shifka. For dessert we both ordered the rosewater malabi with coconut, almonds, and raspberry syrup. The creamy texture of the rosewater infused malabi, combined with the coconut, almonds, and raspberry syrup, was just divine. This was served in a martini glass, and we were both left craving more! Drinks: I could not resist trying the Tayim Signature Cocktails. The Beirut Summer was a delightful mix of flavours, with the Chambord and mint perfectly complementing the aniseed notes. The Desert Oasis provided a tropical escape with pineapple rum and rosemary, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and herbal freshness. Service: Our server Lizel was friendly, displayed genuine warmth, and was attentive throughout our dining experience. Atmosphere: This hidden gem restaurant is in a historic sandstone cavern. The plush cushions, Turkish mosaic candle holders, the Arabic wall tapestries, soft Arabic music, and warm lighting created an inviting and romantic ambiance. We loved the charming setting of the restaurant which was tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Argyle St. Overall, Tayim at Harbour Rocks Hotel was a truly exceptional experience. We dined with the Accor Plus benefit. The restaurant's focus on authentic flavours, along with twists on traditional dishes, made for a memorable culinary adventure in The Rocks."
"Highly recommend. Service was impeccable, just the perfect amount of attentiveness and friendliness. Lovely ambience and food was delicious. Standouts were the kingfish, haloumi but also enjoyed the knafeh and the lamb kofka. Yum!"
