Reviews
"The coffee is excellent. I got a cake to takeaway. I've been buying cakes from the Gourmet Parlour for 25 years, their quality has always been consistent."
"I stumbled upon this charming cafe while passing through town and was blown away by the exceptional service from the friendly and helpful staff. The food was simply delicious and the coffee was some of the best I've had in a long time. The location was perfect and had a lovely ambiance. I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a fantastic experience."
"The food was bland and disgusting. The soup was fine but the wrap was dry and did not have what I asked for in it and for 12 euro it was a rip-off. I ordered a coffee which was also very bad, the coffee tasted burnt. The service was awful and the waitress was actually outwardly rude. I would highly recommend avoiding this place."
"Its our first time to dine in there and I've been saying we must try it. We have order Birthday cakes before and didn't have a great experience and on one occasion we returned the cake and they were very good and gave a full refund. But you can't rate a place without the full experience so we tried breakfast. There is a sign as you walk in saying they give table service so we sat down, all the staff were behind the counter, I bearly had the menu in my hand and a waitress come to take our order, we hadn't any time to even look at it so asked for more time. I ordered the French toast with bacon and maple syrup with a latte, my husband ordered the full breakfast with tea and my daughter the French toast with just maple syrup and a fruit shoot. There was no kids menu. My French toast was more like eggie bread, thin slides bread no element of cinnamon that makes it french toast, it was edible but nothing special and it wouldnt make you think God I have to come back again for this. My latte looked very dark and never have I been given a jug of hot milk before with my latte ? It was needed to top up the latte as it wasn't full and had loads of foam. I loved the little milk jug my husband got with his tea. My husbands breakfast was ok, he said the tastest part was the sausages, the only part that had flavour and the scrambled eggs ( only eggs available) were tasteless, not seasoned and could have been powered eggs. It was experience for what you got. €4.20 for a latte, my daughter was charged full price same as my breakfast even though she didn't have bacon and seriously €2.50 for a fruit shoot..... honestly recommended retail ptice for these is €1. Then as I was paying the coffee machine is right behind the till, if I had seen the dirt off the milk wand I wouldn't have ordered a latte, it was disgusting. Over all everything was ok but with such strong competition in sligo it was below par and you paid for it. Update: the Gourmet Parlour replied to my review, as asked I got in contact with them and passed on my details so they could contact me back. It seems to be an automated response they give to any bad review. They have not followed up so I can only assume that they don't really want feed back to actually help them improve, so its seems that their disregard for customers has filtered from management down. So they have dropped from 2 star down to 1 star now. They contacted me after I updating my review and contacting them a second time. They said they didn't receive my 1st email. Hope our conversation will help."
"It was our first time at the Gourmet Parlour. Nice ambience, delicious fresh food. Dine in or Take away available. They have a lot of menu options to choose from. Staffs Dawn & Corrina were very helpful, polite, professional, customer centric & helped us order the right dish as we wanted Vegetarian dish. They also answered all our queries & went the extra mile to explain everything in detail. Will definitely recommend"
