"Nicola and David are incredibly friendly and helpful. Accommodation is clean and has all we needed. Access to lake is a short walk, 2-3 min. If you want to eat in a restaurant, Murphys Gastro in Butlersbridge is highly recommended. And if you are self caterer, test the butcher called "Herd Butchery" in Butlersbridge. Incredible beef. For your daily needs we'd recommend Super Value in Cavan. It's a 15 min trip. Ald is maybe cheaper but much less choice and probably less "Irish". Regarding fishing, the Cavan lakes are beautiful and pure nature. We catched a lot of pikes between 30 and 80 cm. Perches are pretty small no one over 20 cm. Our target was to catch a brown trout, but unfortunately we wasn't successful. For fly fishers, we recommend Annagh Lough. 3 km from the cottage. 20€ per day and angler including a boat. Book and collect the keys in the small food store "Foynes Newsagent" in Butlersbridge. We catched 2 wonderful rainbow trouts 46 and 51 cm. Thank you Nicola and David for the fantastic time in your Country and cottage. We'll come back for sure... :-)"
