"The Richmond Inn in Cloondara, County Longford, IE. It is located next to the Royal Canal. Very picturesque sight with outdoor dining for boaters. It is a bar, restaurant, & inn. We had an afternoon meal here with a busload load of people (50+) from the Farrell Clan Rally 2022. Very attentive staff at the bar. We had the dining room for our group. A sumptuous three course meal was served. Entree choices were beef or salmon w/ creamed potatoes and accompanied by large bowls of seasonal roasted vegetables and two more kinds of potatoes. What a feast. It's not easy to serve 50+ people but the staff did a great job of serving every dish hot and well made. Thank you. This spot is a nice place for a lunch or dinner inside or outdoors along the canal. And kudos to Robert & Kathleen Farrell for a lovely day touring Longford. "Didn’t actually stay here we pop in regularly for food over the last year. Food last year was average not sure if there’s a new chef this year but the food is absolutely delicious every time we’re there! Absolutely top class and such good value too. Staff so friendly too. Highly recommended."
