"We stayed in Galway for 2 nights and chose The Skeffington for its great location. The staff at the reception desk and in the bar and breakfast room were fantastic. So friendly and helpful. The room itself is a little dated but cozy and comfortable. The bathroom had a nice upgrade. Be sure to ask for a quiet room which might be a little dark but noise from the late night live music will be more muffled. Use the supplied earplugs as they block the noise! Parking is just around the corner and a discounted rate is given and in and out privileges."
"Great experience! Staff is supper friendly. Perfect location and the coffee pods from the room was the best I ever had from a hotel. Nice thing is they leave you some chocolate mints on the bed along with a post card."
"Rooms were very clean. Sleeping was terrible. You could hear the bar and patrons until 2am. Rooms are NOT soundproof. After 2am you could hear them drag the furniture across the concrete! Worst sleep in Ireland. Fire alarm went off at 145am. No direction from hotel management as to if there was an actual fire or not. Music never stopped during the alarm. Went to complain to hotel management to get a refund. Total lack of consideration. Had to check out early and find another place to stay. Offering a free breakfast for no sleep is ridiculous. Being in a management position myself, I know that customer satisfaction is key. Stay away. Don’t waste your money. As my husband said, “we would have slept better in the car”."
"What an amazing place, walked past and decided to stop by. What a beautiful place in the heart of Galway! The staff was friendly and super efficient, the food was great, very good value for money and not your average pub grub, clean bathrooms and the decor amazing. Ended up staying to watch the Ireland vs Italy rugby. We will be back!"
"Nice hotel, rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Connected to the pub next door which was great. Food was good and the Guinness was excellent. Recommend for a long weekend in Galway."
