"Went for mother's day and had another amazing meal. Service is always brilliant and the food was fantastic. We were warned when we sat down that there might be a delay due to how busy it was but the delay was not that bad and considering they have been serving food all day they still had the whole menu choices to choose from. Great food and great service"

"Went for Mothers Day. There was a large group of is. We had heard lovely things, but unfortunately we were incredibly disappointed. The cutlery and glassware was filthy. There was a set menu and many of the items had been taken off the menu which didn't leave you with many options. I ordered beef which was extremely rare to the point I could not eat it. Fish was also overcooked and the battery was dark brown. We'd also asked for a chocolate free dessert due to my partners allergies and they brought us a chocolate cheesecake. A gentleman at the table over also had food knocked over him by a waitress and his shirt was covered in salt. Extremely disappointing. The venue location is beautiful."

"Visited today which was planned & booked 2 wks ago. They requested that we pre-book our meals as there were 7 adults & 2 kids!!! Trio of roasts-tiny roast potatoes, pork was dry, gravy a little slither (requested a separate jug of gravy) tiniest bit of stuffing, bot overly ho, now to the children's meals- Ages 18mths and 4yrs. They had a chicken nuggets meal, really!!!! Dry, overcooked chicken in a batter that was burnt, chips were good with massive chunks of carrot not k ocking the carrot but they were huge!!! The 4 yr old cried because it wasn't the chicken nuggets she expected and the 18th old couldn't bite into his. We did complain and didn't pay which was good as we did complain. Service was slow-appreciate it was a Sunday so was expected. The table we were on was not comfortable as we had the chair legs in the way, making us spread out and having to shout down the table. I had a desert which was the bakewell tart and custard on a plate, tiny bit of custard which was cold. The place itself is beautiful, I got married there, had my dad's wake there, family meals previously have been spot on but since the renovation they are trying too hard and not necessarily catering to its full potential. We sat near the doors which went out to the garden, so cold and breezy everytime that door opened. So today my family and I are disappointed and shall be giving it a miss in the future. Such a shame."

"Popped in for tea last night, it was busy, which was nice to see. The place has been newly refurbished and it looks great. One of the diners in our group were gluten free, they looked online for the menu to ensure they had some decent options, based on that, we booked the table. The server then handed over an iPad to let them choose from a different menu, which was not the same as the online menu. Steak or Fish were the only options, not even the new potatoes were gluten free. I got the seafood grill, which were only warm new potatoes with a small skillet of one small piece of sea bass, one small piece of salmon and two king prawns, a little dish of sauce and a little salad, for the price £17.49, you are asking a lot for a little portion. The lasagne was good, nice portion and the veggie burger was okay. The service was a bit slow, but they were a bit busy, then it tailed off after 7.30. Dessert time- I had a little pudding with a coffee which was very nice- I got a little cookie with mine. The gluten free option were only two dishes- we picked the Bakewell Tart, which was supposed to come with ice cream and cream BUT we only got a jug of custard. Not the best, considering it has a new look, and I won’t be rushing back. So, if you have a gluten free diet, this place might not be to your liking."

"Love this place, lovely outdoor sitting area and dog friendly. We go for a walk along the river too. Just being refurbished so will be even better."
