Reviews
"First visit for a long time. Still a really nice place. Nice menu and the staff are very good. They are pleasant and helpful. The food is excellent. Definitely worth a visit."
"On my return visit to Middlewich, I thought I'd try somewhere different for food. The Fox and Hounds had really good reviews on Google and was highly recommended. We were greeted by really lovely staff in a very warming, tutor style building with a hearty open fire that was lit shortly after visiting. Food appeared to be above the standard pub food you'd expect but sadly did lack in taste. The negative points mainly revolved around the Tempura Squid, where the batter was really greasy and tasted alittle sickly. Lastly, I don't believe the squid was prepped properly. It was not chewy, which was great, but the stringy part of the squid was not removed. The Pork Belly main was delicious but suspect the pork was left out quite abit as it wasn't as tender as it should of been and the fat had solidified alittle. Lastly, the Christmas Pudding was really tasty but the brandy snap was alittle soft which seemed to follow the trend of being left out too long after being cooked? If this was in an area that had more dining options I would probably not return as it the food was alittle forgettable. If I was in the area I'd return as I have noticed Middlewich does not have many dining options."
"Really good, tasty food which is well preseted. Set in a relaxing pub atmosphere, staff are friendly and accommodating. The only down side is that they don't do Coke Zero or Pepsi Max on draft. The bottled ones are really expensive."
"Every time we visit Holmes Chapel we always pre-book a couple of nights here at our absolute favourite restaurant. The food is always fantastic and no matter what we order we are always delighted with our meal! The Matradee and Staff are also great and always efficient, happy and polite, the Bar manager is brilliant and ensures the beers and spirits are well served. The dining area including the washroom facility are spotless. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in The Fox and Hounds Paul and Hannah"
"2 starters and mains. Very pricey but always has been so no shock there. Steak and ale pie huge. Fish and chips looked amazing. We shouldn't have had a starter. Only gripe was the bun for the soup and prawn cocktail was tiny. Plenty of staff waiting on which is good."
