"Always understaffed. Bare shelves in the evening times. I get the impression I’m a huge inconvenience every time I use the self checkout and I have to walk to the back of the store to find somebody to help. Prices are expensive compared to the other shops nearby. I’ve just moved to Deptford and I’ve never experienced a local market like this anywhere else in London."

"Sign on the door says it’s open till 11pm - usually closes at 10:45pm, sometimes even 10:35pm. For people who work till 10pm and want to do shopping after work this matters a lot."

"Popped in to send a parcel via DPD Drop Off service (a service that DPD website and my confirmation emails - and the QR code I was sent via email - all stated as an available service). Person I spoke to - who took a few minutes to become visible.. in an empty shop - said it had to be after 10am (this was after I had showed QR code on phone and politely mentioned it was a DPD Drop Off). I then came back 15 minutes later - same empty shop scenario. Same person begrudgingly gets behind counter stares at my parcel for about a minute and tells me that they 'don't do that'. I show him DPD website stating that they do. Doesn't budge. Unfriendly, unhelpful. I go elsewhere and get it done easily. I then get email telling me that there is an issue with my parcel as it has been scanned at wrong place. DPD Customer Service kindly informs that the Co-Op does indeed have this service or they would not have been able to send my QR code. So somebody is incorrect but judging by the monumental chips on both shoulders of the lacklustre zombie at Co-op I'm thinking the absence of a clue could be the likely scenario in identifying the incorrect party."

"I'm super surprised by the reviews. I've been coming to the shop for over 2 years, so felt I needed to leave my own review after reading them. Staff are friendly and more than happy to help. They go through alot safety wise in the shop. They get attacked by local shop lifters. Have things thrown at them by them. I've seen many staff be attacked in 2 years by shop lifters. They try their best... nobody should feel unsafe working in a shop. Also the staff are given too much to do. Stacking shelves, doing online deliveries. So it is then harder for them to always be at the tills. However security does call them if they are needed. Or if you wave and let them know they are more than happy to help. They also currently have 2 lovley security guards who always have a smile and are happy to help you."

"Reading other reviews made me want to write my own because I have been coming here since it opened and it is a busy shop. The staff are often re-stocking and since online delivery has become so popular this also seems to take up alot of their time. As a result the staff are often not at the till or seem stressed, and so it is no surprise they may appear or be rude or uncommunicative, possibly because customers are impatient or rude themselves. I have seen this as well as shoplifters running out. Often security guards help out with the self service tills, which seems unfair on them. It is also possibly understaffed and as a target for shoplifters adds to the lack of decent management. I don't have a problem coming here to shop but I do think they should rethink how the staff are managed, delegated tasks and treated. Maybe they'd be nicer to customers."
