"What can I say, they accommodated a chow mein 15 minutes before close after an event so I would have taken anything. But I didn't get anything, I got a top notch 5 minute wok fried mein. All the protein pieces (chicken, pork and prawn) were finely shredded so as to not dry out and all match in size (baby prawns), the sauce was, as it should be, not swimming in oil and oyster sauce so at first seemingly light but the flavour and salinity grows woderfully as you eat it without ever getting oppresive. The bean sprouts and onions were cooked but not to death, still with some bite and I could practicly see the stuff come off the wok into my tub and then, swiftly into my belly."

Faraway Shores:

"Chicken Hong Kong style was like chicken nuggets or goujons you’d buy at a local supermarket. Singapore chow mein was so hot it was virtually inedible. Price was a good £5 plus more than other takeaways. Chicken kung po contained NO cashews and was more like sweet and sour. Sauce was definitely not kung po. We only went there because our usual, Hong Kong House which is opposite, was closed. Wouldn’t use these again. Definitely not value for money."

"I’m very disappointed that they charged me a higher price than on their menu. I initially didn’t realise because I had an old menu. I obtained a new one from the driver only to find the prices were still different. When I called to query I was told (in a dismissive manner) that the latest menus had not yet been printed. I think it is highly improper to charge prices different to the menu and I won’t be going again, which is a shame as the food was quite nice."
