"Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Reception lady was hilarious. Made us smile after a long journey. Worth the drive just to chat to her. Stayed here several times and we are always particularly pleased when we are greeted by Jennie. She can't do enough for you. Always has a smile on her face. Seems to be in 3 places at once. Thank you for brightening up our stay Jennie"

"The bed was rock hard as were the pillows, the bathroom was clean but, the flush on the toilet didn't work, and part of the shower was missing. if I hadn't been in a hurry to get out to work I would have complained in the morning but I didn't have time after a poor night's sleep."

"Staff are beyond helpful and were able to provide so many extra things for us (such as tissue, a fan, extra duvet etc) which made our stay a lot more comfortable. Elaine in particular was an absolute star and has maintained her excellent service for so long. I've been coming to this Travelodge for the last 5 years whenever I visit Basildon and during the times that I have seen her, she's been fantastic. Please reward her for her excellent service :). The only thing I dislike about the hotel is the beds and I've noticed a few other people (people I know in real life, too) saying the same thing as me - the beds become extremely uncomfortable after long periods of time. It's okay if you're staying for a night or two, but after spending a week here, I feel like my spine is gonna fall off! We've woken up for the last four mornings in agony and we feel completely stiff. There's also a metal bar inside the mattress that goes along the outside of it and this has caused a lot of bruising on our legs from sitting on the edge of the bed as the bar digs into us."

"Went to desk for the room I had booked, got told I booked the wrong day (accidentally booked for a room the next day) Fair enough. Lady at desk was low key rude, told me to ring some call centre to try and get locations switched for the day I wanted. Had nowhere available, refused to give me £40 refund, 1/10 never going again"

"Sleep wasn't great so much more pain for myself and my sister mattress very hard eventually got to sleep sometime after 3 am no twin beds only double my daughter her friend room wasn't very disabled friendly at all bath in disabled room wasn't helpful at all ....staff were fantastic....totally helpful even came up to see if card would work in room door ,as having issues opening door in end it needed re setting staff came up with me and then my sister to sort entering door twice then came back up to sort it we was on 4 th floor fantastic staff thanks for all off them."
