"Very nice spot for your LGW needs. Found this as a way to avoid all the strikes issues and was very glad that I did. The room was nice and warm, quiet and couldn’t hear a single noise coming from the nearby airport and the reception staff was very welcoming. The room was cozy and nicely warm, with a comfortable bathtub and a more than average bed. If the strikes did anything, is that it allowed me to stay and this very pleasant hotel for the night."

"Ok to sleep 1 night and to catch a plane for the next day from Heathrow. Connected with bus line, 10 minutes from the terminal Crazy smell of detergent across the room and especially in the bathroom. Poor ventilation. Quite small rooms"

"Ok, don't be expecting some plush B&B at this sort of price. Have to say, although Gainsborough Lodge is what you'd class basic accommodation, it is clean and tidy and the front desk was very helpful in helping with a taxi for the airport. If all you need is a reasonably priced bed for the night before an early flight, Gainsborough Lodge is ideal, especially if you take into account their onsite airport parking fees for a week. No one else could touch these prices so close to Gatwick, and there are plenty of good places locally to catch an evening meal before an early flight. Thanks for the stay."

"The room was dirty, When we entered first to the room, the floor was very dusty and there was rubbish under the beds and in the corners. It was there until our last day. We spend 4 nights there. The service was not good too. We were provided toilet rolls after we asked them. So nothing was topped up on a daily basis as a requirement, expet towels. The Toilet and shower was clean on our arrival though."
