Buenos Aires Argentine Steakhouse - Richmond

"I had a great time here - the chefs seemed, if not Argentine, then Latin. The service was very good, the atmosphere was great, and more importantly the food was delicious. We shared a bottle of Malbec, a chorizo and beef empenada pair of starters, sirloin steaks main (peppercorn, chips and a shared side of cream spinach) which was delicious and cooked as you want it. I would say that a small side of vegetables would be ideal but perhaps root vegetables as a side to steak isn't very Argentine... We finished the dinner with a mango and passion fruit cheese cake which was very good. Overall, I'd warmly recommend trying this restaurant and would recommend going for a good steak and an Argentine bottle red to share. All the starters and deserts looked good. The only negative is that the bathrooms could be better"

"Loved this place. Rolled up on a Friday evening on a whim and they found a table for two of us. The food was excellent and great value for the amount we had. Excellent steaks and the Chorizo starter was incredible. The staff were great and the waitress who served us was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely go back."

"2 of us turned up on a Friday night without prior booking but the manager was kind enough to squeeze us in so props him. Started off with a Quilmes Argentinian beer which was crisp & refreshing without being bitter. Had the Garlic Prawns for starters, a 9oz rib-eye medium with mash, mushroom sauce and a side of creamed spinach for mains and an argentine pancake with ice cream for dessert. Steak was cooked to perfection and could have been eaten by itself though that's how good it was. Food was absolutely fantastic and on point so cannot fault that. My only criticism was the waiting staff, some of them gave off the impression that they didn't want to be there. Happy waiting staff = happy customers. Other than that, I would return for a steak."

"I went for dinner on a Wednesday. There were only 3 diners. I think partly the reason is that they cancelled the Tuesday and Wednesday specials. The place is very nice, steak very tasty. But bread is extra charge at £4.25 plus 12.5% of service charge. That is £4.78 for four pieces of sliced bread where other expensive restaurants would give for free (afterall customers are ordering £30-50 of steak dinner). The steak gets cold very quickly. I am a super fast eater yet by the time I gobbled half of the meal, the steak is already stone cold. I would like to suggest the restaurant to warm the plates before serving so that the steak can keep the warmth longer. Hence only 4 stars for my review. Staff are friendly but not attentive. The table was too small to have all the plates. So they took away the water jar. For half of the meal I had no water. I had to ask for water near the end of my meal because neither staff on duty that night noticed the missing water jar. And by that time we were the only one in the restaurant. Well I am not trying to be difficult here. I just want to point out some small details for improvement. I think for £8.74 automatical gratuity I paid, I should have a better service. I mean the staff on duty was superb that night. But there is room for improvement."

"Beautifully decorated Argentinian steak house. Great selection of specialist beefs sourced from South American farms. Very polite child friendly staff. Good selection of wines and cocktails Will definitely return!!!"
