"I have been going to this clinic for Hydrafacial and Dalia has been amazing (5 stars) in taking care of my skin. But during my last visit, I didn’t have a positive experience with some of the other staff at the reception. I enquired about a particular cosmetic product that the clinic used to stock and if it was still available. Unfortunately, they didn’t stock it anymore and that was perfectly fine by me. But when I asked if they had any similar products to recommend, one of the staff asked me if I had oily skin. So I said, yes. And she replied that well none of us here have oily skin so we can’t recommend you anything. I felt quite taken aback by her response because even if none of the staff there have oily skin, I’m pretty sure as a skin clinic, they would have dealt with customers with a range of skin types. I also can’t help but feel that maybe a more sensitive response would be just saying that they don’t stock any make up products in their store? I’m not upset by the fact that she couldn’t recommend something to me, but I’m upset because I felt singled out and discriminated by her response. Maybe it was because my face was very shiny after I finished my treatment, or maybe it was because I was the only Asian there? Whatever it was, I hope that the staff can be more sensitive to their customers’ feelings. The reason why we come to a skin clinic is to feel more confident about ourselves by improving our skin, but instead, I felt that my self-esteem took a hit on from this experience :("
