"Lovely pub grub... The Marston steak and ale pie is a must for any pie fan, work it off with a few games of pool or darts! .... You won't be disappointed, friendly staff, from the barmaid/waiting staff, to landlord to chef.... Would absolutely come back again. Also the pecan brownies are a treat."

"Stayed for one night. First impressions: pretty hotel, great room, clean, lovely decor and H U G E TV. However, it all went downhill from here. There was 1 coffee pod between us and when we asked for more they were immediately supplied. However, the room was cold and the heating went off and did not come back on all the time we were there. The shower was stone cold and the loo didn't flush properly. There was nowhere to put toiletries in the shower. There were no spare blankets in any of the cupboards. There was a lot of banging noise about 10.00 p.m. In fact we were so cold we had to go to bed fully dressed and even then were too cold to get much sleep, and ended up waking every hour or so for yet another coffee to try to thaw out. In the morning after a cold shower and sleepless night we went down to a child-size breakfast - there was no toast, no fruit juice, no mushrooms, no fried bread, no hash browns, poor quality sausages and fried eggs which were so overdone they were solid, washed down with 1 measly coffee and no offer of a refill. We left the hotel feeling cold, tired and extremely hungry. If you stay at this hotel you need to bring your own fan heater, spare blankets and a stash of food to top up the breakfast! An absolute no-no and to be avoided at all costs."
