"I came with painful breast cysts, I was told that they will do a mammogram and an ultrasound scan. I’ve never had a mammogram done before, I was scared, plus, I was in pain, so I’ve politely asked if I can please just have an ultrasound instead. They bluntly replied that they don’t do a ultrasound without a mammogram. Then I’ve asked if there is any alternative to mammogram. The answer was annoyed NO. The staff became nasty, intimidating, treating me disrespectful, and I've been hearing sarcastic remarks about my choice all along. To "punish" me, they only did an ultrasound scan on one part of one breast, where the biggest lums were, instead of doing both breasts fully. They rudely refused to do the rest of my breast and scan the other breast, despite me having pains in both, and despite me asking. I’ve heard nasty remarks. Dreadful experience. I left stressed, humiliated, intimidated and scared. I’ve got to start this all over again, to get another referral from my GP and go through this experience again, just to get looked at the other unscanned part of the breast and the other breast too. What a waste of everyone’s time and money! I pay the NI for years and I’m being treated this way."
