"We went here for dinner with high expectations. We were impressed by the service and the food alike. We were welcomed and seated very promptly and politely, with food, drinks and the bill arriving very quickly. In terms of food, the pasta was great. Very balanced pasta-sauce proportions and tasty throughout. We also had the Bruschetta, which was a great start of the meal. The tiramisu and gelato were tasty and tasted high-quality. Dish sizes were good, perhaps the Carbonara a bit small. Worth noting that the bill includes a 12.5% service charge!"

"Food was great! I ate all of it which is quite rare. Loved the amaretto tiramisu, i would recommend it. The water glasses could have been cleaner - water stains and dried pieces of fruit on it. Also the waiters only gave us 2 minutes before asking for our orders, like give us some time to greet the person we're eating with before coming to the table. They also kept hovering near the table, ready to clear our plates. It felt like we were being watched. But food was great. Maybe service is different at their other restaurant locations."

"Disappointing!! :( Scrambled Eggs Carbonara! Was really looking forward to coming for their soft launch (50% off) but it was such a disappointment. We ordered the burrata salad which is a main but we shared it as a starter. It was much smaller than I expected for a main meal (price £10.50). Then I ordered the smoked salmon carbonara and my friend ordered the pancetta carbonara. Can’t go wrong with classic carbonara at an Italian restaurant right? Wrong!! Both of our dishes had clearly been left sitting for a while. I wanted to give it a chance but it was clearly curdled and the dish was unpleasantly scrambled. I told the waiter and he replaced it but unfortunately the second try also wasn’t great as they had over seasoned it and it was very salty, although it was creamier. Still looked nothing like their marketing photo of the dish though. Overall experience was very subpar. Wouldn’t pay full price."

"We went to the other two branches of Emilia’s (Aldgate and SKD) many times so we naturally had to book the soft launch of this new addition in Wood Wharf! As for the other two branches, the Wood Wharf branch’s atmosphere is really homey and the service is truly impeccable (we actually got served by a waitress that we know really well from the Aldgate branch!). And regarding the food itself, what can I say…it just never ever disappoints! We indulged in the traditional bresaola and burrata starters first then I followed with the richest pappardelle béchamel bolognese ever created! To finish, I tried the new addition on the dessert menu which was a thick yet extremely smooth chocolate mousse with pecans and salted caramel layers! Absolutely to die for. Needless to say that we will keep on dining at Emilia’s in the future."
