"Came here 5 years ago and couldn't believe how rude the waiter was. Decided to revisit tonight to see if they'd got their act together! Apart from a large table being used in the corner the restaurant was empty. I waited for somebody to acknowledge me but no joy. By the time my partner had returned from the loo nothing so decided to leave. Maybe I will try again in 5 years but wear an illuminous outfit!"

"Same guys running it as before when it was Lal Akash and menu has many of the same items. Starters could have been a bit better but the mains, sides etc were very nice. Beers were nice and cold, which is always important. Good quality meal."

"Before I start this review let me just say that I have been a regular at this restaurant for many years when it used to be called Lalakash and have spent hundreds of pounds there and always given a five pound tip on every ocassion. I have always been very happy with the food and the service too. However that all changed on Saturday the 13th of July when my wife and I were subjected to the most appalling customer service that we have ever experienced at any restaurant ever! We went in to the restaurant and spoke to the first waiter who was a Caucasian man. I would like to make it absolutely clear that I have no issue with this man at all and he was polite and helpful. This was not the case though with the other waiter. The problems started when we sat at a table where the restaurants air conditioning system was blowing a cold unpleasant draught right on to us. Because of this we tried to move tables several times in an attempt to not have cold air blowing straight on us. This was an entirely reasonable thing to do and in fact we were given permission to move to a different table by the first waiter. However the second waiter then intervened and spoke to my wife in a very patronizing and disrespectful way and asked us why we kept moving tables and told us that we couldn't keep doing that. Let me just say that no restaurant with any sense of good customer service would ever let staff speak to a customer in that way. He then started pointing at my wife and telling her off as if she was a five year old child and told us that we should go and sit by the window. The rest of our experience wasnt any better either. He was very unfriendly and curt in the way that he took our order and when he bought it out didnt serve the food in a friendly or courteous manner either. Interestingly he was friendly and welcoming to all the other customers who visited the restaurant and there was a noticeable and clear difference in the way that he treated us. By the way my wife is black and I believe that this was part of the reason why he was so disrespectful in the way that he treated her. He couldn't hide the fact that he doesnt like black people. Our meal was okay and the other waiter was extremely pleasant and helpful. Our evening was ultimately ruined though as there is no way that we could ever enjoy the experience after being treated in such a hostile , rude and unpleasant way. Unfortunately after being customers at this restaurant for many years and good tippers as well I'm sorry to say that we will never ever eat here again. For a restaurant to treat loyal customers in the way that we were treated and especially the way that my wife was treated is unforgivable. Sorry Ruchi but in the case of this waiter you totally blew it! I have to work hard to earn my money and so i wont give it to people who insult my wife and are racially prejudiced. Seriously you cannot expect to treat customers like that and for them to be happy about it. Never again!!"
