"Great and authentic Korean food. Super fast service in seating and in food preparation. I confirmed with the staff that all the chicken and beef dishes on the menu are HALAL. We went at about 6:30pm and only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table despite it being very busy. The food is ordered via your own mobile phone by scanning the QR code located on the table – but if you have any questions about the food the staff are very friendly in helping out as they did with us. The food arrived pretty quick after ordering even in a packed house. Great tasting food. Very friendly staff. They were kind, efficient and hard working. One of the staff members kindly explained what each of the kimchi we ordered were and let us know the best way to enjoy it with our meal - even in a busy restaurant she took the time out to have a conversation with us so we could have a better experience. Bento Bap is located very close to Aldgate East Station however if you want to save some money on train travel, I recommend getting off at Whitechapel Station and walking down as it would be cheaper since Whitechapel is in Zone 2. Overall, great experience, great food, great staff. Highly recommend. Thank you very much for a lovely time Bento Bap!"

"I went with three other friends. We ordered the platter for two, which was apparently not allowed because there were four of us... They did, however, make an exception for us. There was a lot of food on the platter for two, and we were glad we didn't get the platter for four. The service was okay, and the servers were not as friendly as I imagined, from what all the other reviews said. The food in general did not appeal to me. The general taste was adequate-nothing out of the ordinary. Some dishes were quite tasteless The kimchi pancake was nice though but the rest of the food was mid :("

"Great food. Recommend booking in advance as it's quite popular. 30 seconds from Aldgate East Station. The BBQ was maintained by the staff who were very friendly and knew their menu well. Flavours and colours are fantastic. Will definitely go again. Chicken, Lamb and Beef are halal. BBQ is cooked on a grill plate with disposable sleeve to avoid contamination."

When you see Korean people cooking the food and are customers too always a good sign of quality...portion size excellent...a lot of choice...good selection of Korean beers. Staff friendly and knowledgeable quick service....lovely place for group or a couple. AAP on the tables so you can order direct too."

"Lovely Korean cuisine, an overall enjoyable experience with calm yet busy vibes and decent service; just wish the service was more alert and that we didn't have to call/wait so much when needed. Food was amazing, halal chicken and beef (ask again to make sure), thoroughly enjoyed the different flavours - also, the plum tea is out of this world. So good!"
