"New review on the Social. They have a new chef Simon and he is excellent. The food and presentation are improved. Am looking forward to the new menu. All the staff are extremely good but shout out to Mikey who will create cocktails off-menu for me. The Social is a bar that values its regulars as much as new clientele. I came in at Christmas for my birthday and the table decorations were stunning. Try them and you won't be disappointed. Very good food. Excellent cocktails. Service is spot on. I would definitely recommend. Live music on Sunday and really good roast dinner."

"Really really disappointing! Came for a late lunch today for my birthday with the family and had been really looking forward to coming here after seeing rave reviews. Starters were good, Salt and Pepper chicken was nice, as were the reaper wings (pictured) but weren't that spicy imo, but were very well cooked and tasty. We tried a number of the milkshakes which all had items listed on the menu missing from them, and were small sized and lacking in any real sort of taste. The vanilla one tasted literally of cheap vanilla ice cream, (like the supermarket own brand one, that costs about £1 for a massive tub) however the bonbon marshmallows on it were really good but not enough to warrant a £6 shake price tag. Both adults had the burger, which despite being pink inside was tough and rubbery and had an overwhelming taste of raw mince. Completely lacking in any sort of seasoning so either poor quality ingredients or it's been cooked straight from the fridge by a chef who doesn't really know how to cook. The fries were barely warm and my wife's side salad which they forgot about at first arrived and was literally a small bowl of leaves, ironically the exact same leaves that garnished the main course plates, so not even a salad. We'd waited well over 30 minutes between starter and main course too and it wasn't particularly busy either being in between lunch and dinner time. It was utterly freezing in there too, I was sat there shivering as I refuse to sit and eat in my coat unlike my son who point blank refused to take his off. Its a real shame as the venue is beautiful, the daytime playlist was great (its on Spotify) and the staff were nice. I suspect it would be a decent place to come with friends, drink cocktails and let your hair down and maybe the sharing platters /finger buffet would be ok for that type of setting but for food there are MUCH better places to eat so I won't be back anytime soon. If you can't get a burger and fries right then either the kitchen staff need a change or your food supplier needs to change. (maybe both) I didn't even bother to look at the dessert menu as I was so disappointed with the mains. In fact I'd paid the bill before the others had even finished their food as I was just desperate to get out of the cold. Nearly £80 down the drain (without a single alcoholic drink) and a totally disappointing birthday lunch after looking forward to it with such high hopes. I expected better and left utterly disappointed."

"Perfect Thursday lunch, quiet afternoon in Prestwich Social with a couple of Madrís followed up by some banging chicken burgers and the scotch egg starter! Can’t complain whatsoever."

"Good food and nice spacious surroundings. Why 3 stars? No mulled wine. Served milk with peppermint tea. Then they billed us for the mulled wine we didn't have. I'd still go again though, but I have to call it out."
