Menors Ferry Historic District
β OpenMenor's Ferry Historic District, located at 127 Noble Way in Moose, Wyoming, is a popular tourist attraction that offers a glimpse into homesteading and pioneer life in Jackson Hole. Visitors can explore Bill Menor's cabin and country store, as well as view a replica of the ferry that crossed the Snake River at the turn of the century. The Chapel of the Transfiguration, located nearby, provides a peaceful setting for reflection and worship, with stunning views of the Teton peaks framed by the altar window. The history of Menor's Ferry dates back to the late 19th century, when William D. Menor established a vital crossing for early settlers in Jackson Hole Valley. The ferryboat and cable system, both replicas of the original, allowed residents to access resources on the opposite side of the Snake River, including hunting, gathering, and timber cutting. Over the years, the ferry changed ownership and eventually became obsolete with the construction of a steel truss bridge nearby.
