"ALL the nurses we're very attentive, polite and professional. Great explanations and details were given by Dr.’s, Nurses and anesthesiologist. They listened to all my concerns and answered any and all my questions with with great understandable explanations and possible courses of action. I don’t think I could have gotten better care anywhere else. VERY VERY satisfied!"
"My husband was called at work by his doctor and told to report to meet a specialist he had not met yet ASAP at the ER about some troublesome lab work. Needless to say, we were very worried. We went to the Burlington ER because it was closest. Big mistake. In the past, I have always stayed the night with my husband in the hospital, and I asked the doctor about room size. She said I’d have a lot more room once my husband was admitted. So we thought ‘ok, no problem.’ Once we were upstairs, however, the nurse tells me that I have to go. My husband and I still don’t know what is wrong with him— (although he has a family history of a less serious condition that he had mentioned SEVERAL TIMES, and there are posts on this site that mention frivolous insurance milking doctors that I REALLY wish I would have seen earlier) —so being told to leave is crazy talk to me. So I tell her quite firmly that I am staying. And she says it’s against their policy, and I think that’s NUTS, so I again tell her that I’m saying, so she tells me she’s getting the head nurse and I said ‘fine’. Next thing I know the nurse comes in with security. And she informs us that she only allows people in hospice overnight stays. And the security (rather large) guard points to my husband and says ‘you don’t look like you’re dying.’ I said ‘first, we don’t know what is happening to him and I would prefer to get his medical opinions from a doctor.’ He then offered to ticket and arrest me if I didn’t leave immediately. My husband said his presence was not necessary and said he would leave with me. The nurse informed him he would be leaving against medical advice and the rest of his care would then not be covered under insurance. I was then hustled out of the room by the security guard. I told him I was uncomfortable being in the elevator with him. He said ‘too bad—you need my badge to operate the door’ This was a lie. He just wanted to traumatize me. The fact that he stood next to the anti violence against women sign was a cruel irony when I had to take the same elevator up to see my husband the next morning. In the end, after a full weekend stay, all the tests, and the fear (and bullying)…it was the family history thing my husband mentioned SEVERAL TIMES from the beginning. Amendment: we also felt terribly for how the man in the next room was being treated. He had some form of advanced dementia. Incredibly SAD. The nurses lost him at one point, (code yellow). And one nurse yelled at the rest to stop laughing at her because she had to care for him when he lost control of his bowels."
"This is the second surgical procedure I had. First was at Spring Valley location and second follow up was in Burlington Hospital. In both locations the professionalism shown by entire staff, nurses, Doctors, and the support team was great. Everyone took the time to explain what was going to happen prior to the surgery and also the aftercare. I felt they were thorough and cared about the patient. Although Spring Valley is much newer, the Burlington Hospital location was very organized and nice as well. Thank you Dr Tran and the entire staff at Aurora."
"I went to the Aurora Medical Center, Burlington for a colonoscopy. When I arrive I first met Danielle at the front desk She already had my paperwork ready to go. I was then escorted back to my room where I was met by two ladies who began to ask me my medical history all the while making sure I was comfortable and were prepared to answer any questions. They gave me my privacy to disrobe and don the hospital gown. They hooked me up to the monitors. The doctor came in and he told me what to expect and I felt very comfortable with his explanation. After a few minutes, and they were on time, I was rolled into the procedure room. They made me comfortable and the next thing I knew, I was back in my room. After a minute or so the doctor came in and debriefed me on the procedure. A few minutes later a nurse came in with a cup of ice water. Once I felt strong enough I got up and dressed then a very nice volunteer took me out in a wheelchair. From the moment I first stepped foot in the facility I felt they were very organized, proficient in their job and were there to provide me with world class medical care. They each were so nice and caring I felt as though I was among friends who wanted only the best for me. I have nominated them all for the Daisy award given to those special nurses who go above and beyond. Trust me!! They did for me and I am forever grateful."
"I was scared to come here due to the bad reviews but the nurses and my doctor have been on top of things and so kind. I came in with low oxygen (hence why I was scared, the bad reviews were about that) but they’ve been on top of checking my oxygen as well as making sure I get all the treatments I need. My doctor has also been very accommodating with my situation so I genuinely appreciate that. I had asked one of the nurses if they possibly had green tea, well there was no green tea where they normally have it but she was able to find one for me! Honestly it’s the small things that matter for me and how they’ve been so helpful while I’ve felt this awful. The staff is KIND, CONSIDERATE, ATTENTIVE, and just the conversations made me feel better mentally while being here. Also the room was very clean when I came in and had all the little toiletries I could have needed they also offered a portable toilet for me for bedside which was helpful as I felt weak, and if I really had to go and couldn’t wait for a nurse to come help me to the bathroom at least that was there! Thank everything I was brought here I could not be more thankful!"
