"Cory and Laura have a great thing happening at Door Cros. Cute little cottages, in a great location with excellent customer service. You’ll get the personal touch you deserve. They have your bike rental needs covered too as they run a rental company right at the resort which is so convenient. They even have a secret happy hour bar for customers that we enjoyed. I’ve been coming here since 2009 and it’s the only place we’ll stay when visiting the island."

"We have rented bikes from Island Rides for day trips in the past and noticed the cute little cottages available, so when we came up to stay over this summer, we decided to give them a try. What a great decision! The cottages are reasonably priced (not true of all lodging on the island) and in a very convenient location, close to the ferry dock and walking distance from a restaurant (highly recommend the Albatross next door for burgers and ice cream) and a coffee shop (Red Door--great coffee and bagels). The cottage was basic and reminded me of an older era, but everything was in great condition and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable, which is important for me. My teenage son slept on the pull-out sofa and had no complaints. We loved the selection of games and DVDs (TV for DVDs only) to borrow from the office and also made use of the fire pit, which was all set up with kindling and matches and ready to light each night. We were delighted to come back at the end of one day and find fresh flowers for our room left outside in a vase! Cory is a very friendly and helpful host and offered help at every turn. We would definitely stay here again and recommend for anyone who wants a nice, clean place to stay in a great location!"

"I cannot say enough wonderful things about my stay here! This my 3rd year at Washington Island and I’ll never choose to stay anywhere else! Cory (Owner) was so attentive to our needs and was very communicative ahead of time AND upgraded me for free!! I love my cabin and it is DARLING and close to the downtown!! "My family and i had a day trip planned for Washington island and had so much fun that we lost track of time and missed the last ferry out by 10 minutes. But we went into problem solving mode and stopped in at Dor Cros. I went into the office and seen a sign with a number to text or call. I got a call back very quickly from Cory and said he had vacancy! He went through the online check-in with me over the phone and was super helpful. After we were settled in, Cory asked if we needed anything and also suggested a few places to eat. The cabin was nice, cozy and perfect for my family. The next trip we plan to Washington island will be for a planned night stay and will be stopping at Dor Cros INN! We are very grateful Cory! Thank you!"

"My wife, son, and I stayed in “The Loft” unit during the week. The pictures on their website match the property and the loft is full of vintage adornments and a kitchen out of a recent history book. My wife compared it to staying in older cabins with her family 25 years ago. It was a very cozy stay and we could not have been happier. We did use the vintage refrigerator and it worked wonders. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable and my son said the thick mattress on the futon in the living room was awesome for sleeping and naps. As another reviewer said, the bedding smells amazing. Even though there is so much to do on the island, we did spend a night in and relaxed “at home” watching a movie because it was too comfortable to get up and go out. Cory and Laura were very friendly and available for any questions we had and recommended several restaurants that we tried. They were kind enough to keep their firewood stocked for us to use, even though we were the only renters there most of the time during our stay."
