Clausen Center for World Business is located on the north end, while the new Science Center, completed in 2015, is situated on the south end. Originally constructed in 1962 as the Library-Auditorium-Science Building, the center was extensively renovated in the early 1990s and renamed in honor of the Honorable David A. The dedication ceremony in 1995 was attended by Carthage alumni and friends, with remarks from various dignitaries and a portrait unveiling of Mr. Straz. The creation of the Straz Center marked the beginning of a campus transformation, with subsequent additions including the N. E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center, Hedberg Library, and the A. W. Clausen Center for World Business. In 2014-15, a major renovation of the center was completed, adding a new wing and enhancing classroom and laboratory space for collaborative research opportunities.
