Konkel Park in 1990 to honor Mr. Konkel's 34 years of service to the community on the Park and Recreation Board. The park features two official softball fields with lights, a shelter/concessions/restroom facility, a large playground area, and a "sand volleyball center" with four courts. In 1994, Milwaukee County deeded over 16 acres of adjacent land to the City, expanding the park to its current size.
