This museum is a combination of the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine and the Youth Museum, which joined together in 2002 to showcase the history, culture, and character of the coal-mining region. The museum is situated in the scenic New River Park, surrounded by beautiful lawns, colorful flowers, and picnic areas. The Youth Museum features exhibits in four railroad boxcars, with a central exhibit area that changes yearly.
