Stauffer's Marsh Nature Preserve is a 46-acre wetland paradise located on Back Creek Valley Road in Hedgesville, West Virginia. Originally farmland, this preserve is now a haven for migrating and nesting waterfowl, thanks to the restoration efforts of the USDA. The property has a rich history dating back to the 18th century, with notable owners such as Abraham Haines and Bethuel Middleton Kitchen. Visitors can explore over a mile of easy-access trails with interpretive signs, as well as enjoy two overlooks for waterfowl viewing. The northeastern side of the preserve also features a pollinator meadow restoration project.
