Wildwood House Museum
Wildwood House Museum, located at 121 Laurel Terrace in Beckley, West Virginia, is a historic home that once belonged to Beckley's founder, General Alfred Beckley. This museum, which is a popular tourist attraction, is open during the summer months and for special pre-arranged tours and occasions throughout the year. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1972, the original double log structure of Wildwood was built in 1836. This log house, known for its mountaineer spirit, has been lovingly restored and filled with period antiques, many of which belonged to the Beckley family. Wildwood played a significant role in early Raleigh County history.
