Island Grown Farmers Cooperative, located at 11719 Westar Lane in Burlington, Washington, is a unique food store specializing in locally sourced meats from small family farms in the San Juan, Skagit, and Whatcom Counties. NW Local Meats, the full service butcher shop within the cooperative, offers a variety of meats including beef, pork, lamb, and goat. Founded in 2002, IGFC was established to provide butchering access to small farmers on the San Juan Islands, preserving the island way of life and historic farmlands. By creating a Farmer Owned Cooperative, they are able to control the entire farming process from the beginning of the animal's life to the consumer's plate.
