Tacoma Needle Exchange - Puyallup Tribe
The Tacoma Needle Exchange - Puyallup Tribe is a health institution located on Portland Avenue East in Tacoma, Washington, United States. Since 1988, we have been providing syringe exchange services to help combat the spread of HIV/AIDS among drug users. Our founder, Dave Purchase, believed in the importance of providing new injection supplies to minimize the risks of contracting blood borne viruses. By building trust with our community members, we are able to engage in conversations about drug use, sex practices, and other issues. We ask participants to bring their used injection supplies to receive new ones at our exchange sites. Our outreach staff has strong relationships with service providers in the South Puget Sound region and can refer participants to appropriate resources when needed.
