E9 Firehouse & Gastropub
β OpenE9 Firehouse & Gastropub is a historic institution located at 611 North Pine Street in Tacoma, Washington. Originally built in 1907 as Engine House No. 9 to provide fire protection for Tacoma's North End, this building has a rich history of serving the community. The institution features a bar and restaurant that pays homage to its past, with the bar area located where the stable gate once stood and the original accordion doors that used to open for the horses to bolt out like a race track. After falling into disrepair and being abandoned in 1965, the building was purchased and restored by Win Anderson and Bob Lane in 1971. In 2011, the Xitco and Paradise families took over as proprietors, preserving this historical landmark for future generations to enjoy. Today, E9 Firehouse & Gastropub is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, offering a unique dining experience with a blend of history and modern cuisine. Come visit us and experience the charm and character of this iconic institution in Tacoma.
