Dr. W. Max Hurley-Dorof | Capital Center for Psychotherapy & Wellness is a health institution located at 1330 U Street Northwest in Washington, District of Columbia, United States. Dr. Hurley-Dorof is an openly queer clinical psychologist who provides individual, couples, and group therapy for a wide range of presentations including depression, anxiety, trauma, gender/sexuality, identity development, relationship issues, social adversity, and grief & loss. He has a special interest in working with LGBTQIA , college-aged, and Veteran populations. Dr. Hurley-Dorof completed his master's and doctorate in clinical psychology from George Washington University and has experience from various clinical training sites including McLean Hospital and the Washington DC VA Medical Center. He approaches therapy with an authentic, collaborative, and affirming style, utilizing a psychodynamic lens along with other modalities such as interpersonal, humanistic, relational, cognitive-behavioral, and social justice theories. Outside of work, Dr. Hurley-Dorof enjoys dancing, sports leagues, documentaries, swimming, and traveling to experience new cultures.
