Grindstone Campground is a picturesque institution located in the Fairwood Valley, surrounded by pastures and wooded hillsides in Troutdale, Virginia. Situated within the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, this campground offers a peaceful and natural setting for visitors to enjoy. Although the campground is currently closed for facility repair needs, tent campers can still access the Opossum Loop area. While there is no available water or dump station, all sites come equipped with a fire ring, cooking grate, lantern post, picnic table, and tent pad. Domestic pets are welcome as long as they are attended to and kept on a leash.
