"I’ve honestly loved living here! Its by far the coolest, most unique apartment building I’ve ever seen. Whenever I host, my guests always gush over the building and our apartment. I love all the common spaces, especially the basement (The Cellar). The building is a little out of the way but having a Mom’s close by + Bikeshare bikes hasn’t stopped me from getting around the city."

"Pluses: Shaye gave me an excellent tour. The apartments are really cool, as is the interior. Mom's downstairs looks really good. Target, cafes, and Planet Fitness are all on the block. Checkers is around the corner. Minuses: In general, you have to drive because the area is a little isolated from the main portion of Noma and Union Market, but I had no trouble taking the D4."

"Very poor management and training. When I called to begin the process of my application I was informed they work with students and student loans. The files I had at the time would be good enough. In fact they were not which further delayed the process, after jumping through hoops to get the correct paperwork the apartment I originally wanted was gone, Once i was able to find another apartment, I reapplied and althrough this was faster because it was reopened the process was denied because even through their financial and background accepted the paperwork, the apartment complex does not accept loans. When I called looking for a solution of what would work I was not given any answer. Now i am back to searching in a tighter time line after wasting a month because of false information and confirmaion provided to me. TL:DR They do not accept student loans as proof of finance. They wasted precious timeline because of poor training. Also onsite team doesn answer calls after 4."

"Please bring back the comedy show with Four Corners. The drinks were flowing, the comedians were AMAZING and the energy was everything. Lived in the building for 2 1/2 years and haven’t had this much fun at a community event. Would definitely bring them back at least once a month (or bimonthly?). Nonetheless the event was awesome."

"I've been living at the Hecht for nearly a year and I really love it. The pros greatly outweigh the cons here. Beside my apartment, I enjoy having plenty of entertainment spaces for friends to hang (since I live in a studio). I hosted my birthday party on the mezzanine last year and it was wonderful to enjoy the summer breeze while my friends celebrated me. I've also hosted friends on the rooftop which is prime for entertaining. The gym is wonderful. The machines are up to date, the weights look new, the equipment looks hardly used, and it is typically not crowded when I go. The yoga studio built in a really cool plus that I didn't anticipate when I moved in, but it allows privacy when I don't want to be out in the main area of the gym. If there are any issues in my apartment, maintenance is QUICK to resolve them. Sometimes they come the same day and I'm unprepared for their visit, but I consider that to be a good problem. The icing on the cake for the Hecht is concierge. I have typically lived in the south [of the US] in walk-up apartments or in rental homes since adulthood, but DC has a rental market that is measured by the quality of the concierge. I can always count on a greeting coming through the door when Darrell is working. He sends text messages to alert me of packages and will call if I have a visitor wanting to come up. All of the concierge do their jobs well, but it is clear that Darrell loves what he does. He also does it well. I have had my car broken into once since I've been here, but that is no indictment on anyone other than the person who did it. I don't blame the neighborhood, the building, the security, the quadrant [of DC], any of it. It just was my turn. Crime has happened and will happen anywhere. I am grateful for the means to have remedied the problem in a matter of hours because it wasn't always that way. Nevertheless, if I had to choose an apartment again, I'd choose the Hecht. It is very conveniently located off of New York Avenue with easy access to the tunnel and Interstate 50. The loft style apartment is something I have been wanting to live in and experience for over a decade and finally have. I really do love where I live. I hope everyone does. If you're in the market for an apartment, don't hesitate to look at Hecht Warehouse. You won't find better for cheaper."
