The Historic Fishburn Mansion, located at 714 13th Street Southwest in Roanoke, Virginia, is a 42-room Georgian-revival mansion built in 1907 by Junius B. Fishburn, a prominent publisher, banker, and philanthropist. This unique recreation center was donated to the city in 1955 by Mr. Fishburn himself, with the stipulation that it be used for public recreation purposes. The mansion is surrounded by a beautiful estate featuring a garden, community garden, and a converted carriage barn that now serves as a greenhouse. Visitors can explore the mansion Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Special holiday tours and open houses are offered during the Christmas season. The center hosts a variety of community recreation programs, including fitness, wellness, and art activities.
