"Great little place to stop at! The restaurant was packed! That just tells you the food must be good. Cute little gift shop! We enjoyed the ice cream."
"What an incredible memory!! We had been many years ago and wanted another visit since it was fall. The leaves were perfect. Set off the Blue Ridge Parkway, it was very busy. We put our names in for a TWO hour wait and toured the grounds. This gave us plenty of time to look into the mill and other buildings. Please consider visiting any time of the year. Operational mills are rare."
"Great little side trip for the family. My 2 teenagers even had a great time here. Nice short little trails that are easy to walk even for someone who may have knee issues. Definitely a must!"
"We visited early in October. The leaves here, in Virginia, are just beginning to turn their beautiful fall colors. Visiting the Blue Ridge Parkway at the end of the tourist season has been a delight. There are very few cars on the Parkway. We can always find a parking spot at the pullouts. And the other visitors are very relaxed as well. Magnet Mil is a peaceful place to visit. We arrived a little after 4:00 p.m. in the late afternoon. At this time of year, there are no demonstrations to enjoy, nor park rangers to visit with. But there is a walking path around the displays that can easily answer many questions about life in the 1800's. We would have liked go inside a couple of the buildings, such as the cabins and smith's shop, but we could see things enough through the windows. The Mill itself is the highlight of the visit. Be sure to read all the plaques, and visitor information in the BRP book. And the 'University of Google' can always answer more questions. Mabry Mill is located at milepost 176 along the Parkway in Virginia."
"The buildings and equipment is very well preserved. Multiple sites were very nice, I enjoyed going back in time. Beautifully laid out. Restrooms were available in the overflow parking area. Also, Mabry Mill Restaurant is available."
