Myerton Apartments

"Was a resident here for 4 years and just left. The property and management has taken a huge decline since Van Metre took ownership. There are rats all over the place. Trash all over the parking area. There were days when I couldn’t even get into my parking spot due to the trash all over the ground. The management doesn’t respond to emails or requests. And to top it all off the kept all but $30 of my $1500 security deposit when I moved out. There was nothing wrong with the unit besides the normal touch ups on the walls. Van Metre is a horrible management company and I would never EVER recommend anyone to lease from a property owned by them. They are the worst company I have dealt with in 14 years of renting."

"Pros: - Tim, the maintenance man; he’s always very helpful and friendly. - Convenient location (near DC and nightlife) - Price. I moved to the Myerton to save money, which I was able to do because of the relatively cheap rent - No pests in the home. This is honestly my only requirement in an apartment despite the cons I will share below. Cons: - Rats near dumpsters consistently; it’s pretty disgusting. The property needs more traps! - Poor communication from management office. I moved out and talked to nobody about it despite multiple calls, emails and visits to the leasing office (no one is ever there). They only seem to communicate with prospective tenants (even when I call the company phone number, I only get through to another person when I select the option for renting a new apartment home). Once they have you tied up in a contract, you will not hear from them nor will you learn about the ever-changing management companies. - Neighbors consistently leave the main door wide open, not just unlocked. Some were also hellbent on leaving their nasty trash in the hall. But again, no pests in the home, so there’s that."

"Jason Kennedy was incredibly helpful during my application process! He kept in contact for all my questions/concerns which I really appreciate, and the rest of the staff is very friendly. I find it's important to move somewhere you know you'll be accommodated and cared for, as I've had some disappointing past experiences elsewhere in the area. As far as community goes, I can honestly say I'm surprised I haven't come to live here sooner. The Myerton has all the amenities I want (in unit w/d, pool, gym) and at such a reasonable price, especially for being so close to DC! Their apartment layouts utilize space really well and have a modern feel which I love. I've never had that "Aha! YES, this is perfect" reaction until my tour of Myerton Apartments. What a great feeling! I can't wait to live here in December :) Would highly recommend them to anyone looking to move to Arlington! Thanks again, Jason"

"Ms. Ikea Jones is AMAZING! She is EXTREMELY professional, knowledgeable of the property area and she is a sweetheart. I was promoted to a new position in DC, and literally had a week to find an apartment. I was working with other leasing agents, but other agents would just call me annoyed and pressure me to apply for apartments blindly. Ms. Johnson, refreshed my renting experience and gave me hope. She emailed me about the renting process, allowed me to call her on her cell phone, and sent me pictures/links of apartments. She was able to give me insight on the area, and worked around my schedule. She is very transparent and easy to work with. She set up a time for me to visit the property and I applied in person. As a civil servant employee this kind of service and professionalism means the world to me. She has a great work ethic and I hope she continues to be an incredible contribution to your property management team."

"This is my second time living at the Myerton apartment complex. I continue to choose this place because of the convenient location for work, DC nightlife, it's private courtyard, and small community. The pictures posted on their website do the property justice, and the leasing office and maintenance staff- despite some of them being new to the property- have been nothing short of stellar performers who show that they genuinely care about making you feel at home. Wardell was quick to help me move in, very transparent in what to expect in my future home, and it was overall a very smooth transaction, which is something I am truly thankful for given the holiday season churn at work. After living in my new apartment for less than two weeks, I woke up one morning and noticed my bathroom floor had water all over it. Turns out that one of the main drains from Myerton to the sewer had clogged and caused sewage to fill my bathtub and overflow onto my bathroom floor. Living on a ground-level apartment, it was pretty bad. I sent ONE email to Honri at around 6:40am and he responded within 20 minutes saying that him, Tim, and the maintenance folks have taken it for action in addition to having already called the plumber. Before I even got home from work that day, my bathroom, towels, and bathmats were all cleaned and sanitized. Can't recommend this place enough-- if there's an availability that suits your needs and you're in the market for an apartment, look no further. They're pet friendly; there's a metro bus stop right outside the apartment that will take you to NSF Arlington and the Pentagon (if you're DoD); there's always parking available at Myerton; the gated perimeter around the apartment buildings requires a key for entry as well as each individual apartment building, meaning there are two access points before reaching your actual apartment door (private and secure)- no one's going to be stealing your deliveries here; and best of all, their prices are unbeatable for the peace of mind that is offered by living here, knowing that you will be taken care of."
