Greater Rhea Exhibit
β ClosedThe Greater Rhea Exhibit at the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington, D.C. showcases the largest South American bird, the greater rhea. These flightless birds are known for their long legs, long necks, and unique plumage. Visitors can observe the rheas up close and learn about their natural habitat and behaviors. The Zoo is free to visit, but entry passes are required for all guests, including infants. Members of the Zoo receive exclusive benefits and support animal conservation and wildlife research. Donations are also welcome to help care for the animals and support conservation efforts.
