Calfee Training School, located at 1 Magnox Drive in Pulaski, Virginia, is a historic institution that played a vital role in educating African American children from 1894 to 1966. Despite facing challenges due to segregation, the school served as a community hub, helping children and families thrive. The future Calfee Community & Cultural Center aims to carry on this legacy by supporting the entire Pulaski County community. During construction, $3.5 million will be invested in local jobs and economic growth, with at least twenty jobs to be created once the center is operational.
