"We visited as part of a reserved school/organizational trip. We had multiple docents working together to give our group the details and highlights of the Monroe collection. It was fantastic! I really enjoyed the highlights the docents chose to share. There are some great pieces in the collection that any history lover of this time period or Monroe or the founding fathers must see! One of the docents is a 4th grade history teacher and she was very excited and enthusiastic in her passion for the history, which I particularly appreciated. It is always exciting to hear history from someone who is passionate in this way! I appreciate that this is a child/youth friendly museum. I feel like we don't always see that with smaller museums. I definitely recommend this as a stop if one is visiting Fredericksburg. If we live here it's a must!"
"This is an absolutely amazing museum. I learned a lot about James Monroe when I was here. I also love the way it’s laid out. It is a self guided tour. However, there is staff on hand to ask questions. The exhibits are laid out very well and there are detail descriptions about each one. Also, they have a very clean toilet here and that made me happy. All I know me and my partner really enjoyed visiting this museum and I highly recommend it if you pass through this area."
"This a excellent place to visit. This shows the true life of the 5th president of the USA. (Well as much as they can and find) they have so much to see here this great for all History buffs, this great for all who whish to learn on the 5th president of the USA. We had a great time a fun place for the hole family of all groups. You will like it we do. I highly recommend this place for a visit."
