University of Vermont Talcott Forest
The University of Vermont Talcott Forest, located in Williston, Vermont, is an 88-acre park donated to UVM in 1962 for teaching, research, and extension activities. Managed by the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, the forest is used for courses in dendrology and forest measurements. A timber harvest is planned for 2023 to remove invasive species and increase tree diversity. Visitors should be aware that there are no parking facilities or direct road access to the forest, with the nearest parking at the Catamount Outdoor Family Center. Access to Talcott Woods is through a dirt road south of the white farmhouse, adjacent to the Catamount Community Forest. User fees may apply for access to the parking area.
