Nonprofit board development in Montpelier, Vermont

The Vermont School Boards Association, located at 2 Prospect Street in Montpelier, Vermont, is a private, nonprofit membership association established in 1963. Dedicated to serving Vermont's elected school boards, the VSBA offers services, support, and counsel to help members lead their districts, manage relationships, and promote public education throughout the state. As of July 1, 2025, the VT AOE's District Quality Standards, including governance standards for school boards, will come into effect. To assist boards in meeting these standards, the VSBA has created a self-evaluation tool to identify areas for improvement in governance practices.
