Originally an 80-acre farm owned by the Wardle family, the land was used to grow alfalfa, barley, and sugar beets for nearly fifty years. After Charles Wardle passed away in the 1950s, the family sold the land to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which was later acquired by Salt Lake County in 2008.
